Off Day
It's one of those days when one can see that the end of the West is in sight.
And perhaps it deserves to go. We are decadent. We encourage excess, and call it freedom, we encourage blasphemy and call it art. Maybe we'll just join the long line of failed civilisations who made the mistake of thinking they would last forever and took their eyes off the ball. We have squandered our economic patrimony in the name of 'growth'; we have squandered our culture in the names of 'irony' and 'satire'.
Mat The Lord help us all.

Doesn't help if we open the gates of the city and say:
"Thank you so much for the Wooden Horse. Can I give you a hand pulling it in? Would you like a generous grant from the Minister of State for Communites to open a Wooden Horse factory?"
You get the picture...
Well, perhaps it will all be over tomorrow anyway...

Don't despair Martin, its a sin. I can't offer more than that pabulum however--what do you think we should or could do, and do you think we can do it?
You keep making me think, and moving my conscience--thank you for that. I like this blog very much.
Slowly the sun sets on civilization as it was, such as it was.
