Has The Tartanissimo Uttered A Single Word Of Succour To The Family Of Melissa Reid?
If he was willing to wave a Saltire at Wimbledon, an act which appears to be to lawn tennis what the pitch invasion at Wembley in 1977 was to football, The Tartanissimo should be willing to speak out in support of Scots in the news for bad reasons as well as good.
As I wrote last night my sympathies are firmly with Miss Reid's family right now, but should she be cleared of these charges for whatever reasons I don't imagine The Tartanissimo would fight shy of a photo opportunity with her. If he'd be willing to nudge into the limelight then he should be willing to do as much as he can to help her now - and I can't find any trace of him having said a word about her plight at all.
People of Scotland, take careful note - your First Minister only seems to want to know you when you're on the up, so just make sure you're never on the way down.
